Transparent by design

Methodology

This prototype turns a broad population average into a personal-looking clock. The number is an estimate. The transparency is the product.

What the model uses

The starting point is an illustrative life-expectancy baseline selected by country and sex. Current age receives a small survival adjustment: reaching an older age changes the remaining-life question. Optional smoking, activity and sleep answers apply visible directional adjustments.

Why the result is a range

A single date creates false precision. We pair the midpoint with a wide age range because individual outcomes vary through genetics, healthcare, income, environment, accidents, future behavior and chance.

What this version does not do

It does not use medical records, family history, diagnoses, precise actuarial tables or clinical risk models. Prototype baseline values are illustrative and must be replaced with a versioned, cited public dataset before a production launch.

How to interpret it

Do not make health, financial or end-of-life decisions from this result. Use it as a prompt: if time were more finite than it feels today, what conversation, visit or piece of work would you stop postponing?
